About 4 years ago, I have opened a Google account to my son. Since, he has only used Picasa to store our family pictures and his own drawings - all those files being systematically shared with me and his mother.
But a few days ago, while subscribing to Google+ - the idea was precisely to ease the sharing within the family - I was asked to put the birth date of my son (who is 11 this year). When I entered it, I immediately received a message saying that the account would not be opened until the subscriber would give a proof that he was over 13, without any more option available! The account has simply vanished, including trying to go via my own Picasa account.
I can understand the new policy of Google, but I can hardly understand that an already existing account is just closed up without any previous notice, and with a lot of very personal information on it. The system also says that the account will be definitely deleted in about 3 weeks from now, which is hard to believe... If that would happen, that would be a very serious - if not catastrophic - issue for us as we have about 4 years of photo albums and drawings on this Picasa/Google account.
So, is there any way to recover those albums or at least to have them transferred to my account before my son's one is deleted??
