How to get this website to get free it is legit only?
How do you know if a website that asks you to login using your Google account is legit and not a phishing scam?
Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this question, I didn't see any of the sub forums that was obvious for such a question. If it needs to be moved let me know where and I will.
Thanks
How to get this website to get free it is legit only?
Sorry chodeenimi, I'm not sure I understand your response. Maybe my question was not clear, let me try again.
A third party website ask me to log into their site using my Google account. Is there any way to verify that the login in legit? How do you know if the login is real and not a scam to get your Google information?
what is the website url? because sometime there are some website like that such as blogger.com , youtube.com, etc
Yes, I have come across logging in using my Google account on some larger well know web site such as youtube and a few others, but they have all been well known high traffic sites. That is what set off an internal flag with this website, its not well known. I did a little research and the organization is registered in Peru.
It gets a bit stranger, I went back to the site to take a closer look at the log in. This time when I started the registration process, it said I was already registered and sent me an email with my user id and a very personalized password, one that I would have never used. This is strange because I did not finish the registration using the Google login the first time.
I tried using my other Gmail (junk mail account) to see what would happen, it again said I was registered and was sending an email. I couldn't get the logon using your Gmail Account to pop up.
At this point the issue is mute, I won't be going back as I don't trust the site.
My original question still stands now that I thought about it a bit. How do you know when a site asks you to login using your Google account if it is legit?
Maybe Google should use an avatar stamp like Yahoo to authenticate remote logins. That would put the issue to rest.
