Thread: Google Vs Microsoft

Well if any of the rumours are true, they won't be starting from scratch but either with Unix or Linux base. So we'll see what happens...like I said, they know they got a strong team, and seem to know what they're doing.
Why is Microsoft's Steve Ballmer, always bashing Google at any events/seminars he is hosting or is a speaker of?
If they're not a threat, why mention them? (other than the search factor...big deal right?)

I would love google/sun to create an operating system. I hope that the said OS would get at least as many users as a mac OS. That would be a huge feat in itself. Microsoft needs the competetion so that they are striving to be better.

I currently use:
dual boot (XP32 and XP64..just got 64 the other day)
firefox
MS office
Gmail
Gdesktop
Thunderbird

Im hoping that gdesktop/gtalk will be available for 64!

there are alot of simularities of google and microsoft
such as
bill gates(gives half his billions to charity)= google foundation (works with things such as solving water issues in kenya)
gmail = hotmail

I think google is winner even now! You ask me why? And my answer is: because people use googlemail (when you install your windows it will tell you that hotmail is the best mail system) but somebody choose gmail... If you choose gmail than you may be using google talk and there a lot of programs and services that people use even if Microsoft has something like that... And one thing all google features are free

I motionless use internet explorer and Windows since I know more about them - the only reason I began to use Gmail was given that we only of late got broadband and only just got a Hotmail account so it was easy to modify.

I really like Google and there are many things with which Google is busy in these days. I heard that Google is making a website which is a social networking website. I don't have so much knowledge about that just know the name its name is "Google Me".

I question Microsoft will construct a better search engine than Google, as well as I cant consider Google ever making a more succesful OS than Microsoft.

I don't believe so , Google leave never compare to middle class , may be google service is a microsoft device ..

If Google is to launch any such operating system, all those SEO guys might be interested to use those system as today most of the internet marketing business is done through Google. please update the thread with any such new information.

I also heard that the developer wont be google. itll be developed by other people and google will buy it, if itll like..

Maybe Google. will developed a new OS. We don't know, but if they do, all other companies would be shaking in their boots.

Well i don't think so that Google will ever compete with Microsoft. Both the companies have their own business and products and Google has no need to meddle in Microsoft work. Moreover everyone is accustomed to use Microsoft so even if google develop its own OS i don't think so many people will switch to it.

of course you wouldnt because you have the money to do it and you can make alot more money out of it.

Nice to know people are making better phones in order to draw attention instead of finding stupid ways to get rid of companies.
