I would like to know as well

I would like for GOOGLE, the F-ing stupid company to stop putting the new features on my IGOOGLE Page without asking me first. If the continue to do this, I will be forced to take legal actions against them. NOW HOW DO I REMOVE THE F-ING STUPID FEATURES THAT THEY ADDED WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!!!!!

    Angry Sidebar

This caused me an hour or so futile head scratching. If I want something I'll ask for it. Remove the "Feature/Bug" please. I'm being polite for the moment.

    Yes You Can!

You can remove google toolbar (which also removes the sidebar), but if you have windows vista -- windows has a version of the sidebar as well. To activate, go to start and in the search window type: windows sidebar and it will automatically start. It looks nicer than google sidebar too with opacity offering, etc.

    Good Luck!

Who needs sidebars - for baby users

iGoogle serves a great function for me - puts highlights and links of many publications and resources right on my browswer home page. Google sidebar does nothing that I do not have already just takes up space. Windows Vista side bar is useless... just eye candy for baby users. We should all go back to DOS command prompt and forget about all this crap for baby users. Function should be useful for the user. Not debase intelligence to the lowest common denominator. The smiley buttons on this page are another example.... OK give grandma the option but allow power users to opt out. Real solution is unix.

    iGoogle home page

Well, I still hate the new side bar. I still am resentful that it is not an option. iGoogle should now be called theirGoogle!! It certainly isn't mine!!

i suggest we start a petition to remove google everything sidebar, and submit it to google. personally its disruptive and make google feel different and awkward, especially when i use google image search.

    I have a solution:

Get a scalpel (very sharp knife).

With a steady hand score around the sidebar. Be careful not to slip and cut your finger.

When you have finished scoring repeat the process but with more force.

You will now be able to carefully remove the sidebar from your monitor.

    I hope this helps.

Surprised to see why the most effective solution (for Firefox) is not posted here. Anyway, here it is:
    1. Download/install an extension called 'AdBlock Plus' from Firefox extensions page.
    2. Open AdBlock preferences, press 'Add Filter'
    3. Paste this: google.com#TD(class=leftborder)
    4. Click ok. goto your more roomy iGoogle page!
