The PageRank itself is ambiguous. There are two PageRanks:
1. the green bar value inside google-toolbar. This is not accurate value, somewhat similar, but mostly outdated value of an actual pagerank. This can be used as a vague reference only, but that's pretty much it.
2. Actual PageRank that google uses in their algorithms to rank pages and prioritize based on searchers' queries. Unfortunately there's no way to query that actual value, and if there was, people wouldn't be using google-toolbar at all. They would instead build, and offer their own widgets that would be much more accurate than google-toolbar value of pagerank.

Page Rank is of least importance. Those with PR of 4+ at times lag behind in SERP for keywords of websites with PR1. So, not to bother much about the PR. Concentrate on the basics.

Definitely Page Rank has importance but Traffic is the preference of everybody. Websites get the authorty when it has good page rank.

Having a good PR is a good thing, but targeted traffic has more importance in terms of website popularity and sales conversions. Even, you'll find many websites who are popular among people but don't have any high PR. But if you are selling banner and text links advertisements, then make sure to improve your website PR ...

Everybody thinks pagerank is important but almost no one admits how important it is. The importance of pagerank can be scored by the point that Google considers the pagerank as one of the main point while ranking a site in its search results. If you have a good pagerank then you have high chance to be ranked above any other lower ranked page.

Page rank have great importance..
Its good way to promote your business..

Its important we should consider the PageRank and at the same time targeted traffic will give wider support for any kind of website.

Page rank is actually assigned by Google and it doesn't only belong with the incoming traffic. It belongs to the website structure, the valid information in it, how many times the Google has caught it for the spam and illegal activities. After that the turn comes for incoming traffic. If the page rank is higher, there would definitely be the chance for more incoming traffic.

I completely agree with Bodhost. One should focus more on driving traffic and conversion. This is what matters at the end. The more visitors the more conversions and sales. PR doesn't have much importance nowadays, as it was before.

PR is one of the Important SEO factor to which the Google evaluates the website on the basis of the inbound links of a website, This show the credibility of a website

I guess you are absolutely right. Sometimes the websites with high PR lack behind the websites with low PR.

Yes you are right that nowadays traffic is important then pr according to some webmasters, but we can not neglect the importance of page rank because google give preference to good page rank backlinks.

the rank value indicates an importance of a particular page. A hyperlink to a page counts as a vote of support.

PR is not as important, as it used to be, for computing the search engine rankings of a website.. But still, it is still one of the factors that is considered while computing Google rankings..

Everyone here agreed that page rank is very important that's include me. But why focus on page rank if there are still some methods you can do.
