Well, IMO the social promotion is also a part of the SEO. Definitely, its not good to rely on Google every time. It is a good start to promote your website on such sources from where you can achieve lots of visitors.

Yes, of course social media is better then seo; but what i think social media also including seo;
suppose when we are doing social book marking, blog commenting, blogging etc.. in seo it's also parts of smo. smo does not mean only facebook or twitter.

Well I think that both have their own importance because you can't say which in better then other but in some cases SEO works better then SMM and in some cases SMM works better then SEO so both have their own performance.

Not better then SEO, it's just best for seo. Bcz now a days more then 76% visitors in social media may be networking like: FB.

see if you want instant hits and traffic then go for social media like twitter, facebook, lined in etc.... but seo helps in slow but long way in traffic... once you will get ranking in organic way then it will god for your website.

These Both activities are are quite helpful for a website in terms of promotion and goes neck to neck with each other but think SEO is more benefitive i can say as the Social promotion results you on temporary basis

From social promotion you can get traffic only but from SEO you can rank your website and can get organic visitors from google as well as other search engines.

SEO is a type of method to increase the traffic n your website and make you more visible in search engine in terms of keyword you use. SEO can be done long term than social promotion and you can easy get traffic on SEO.

I think by social promotion one can help to traffic also it help to improve keyword visibility in google, now a days i feel all search engine gives importance to real time result if u have good followers in digg or in twitter then your post will def comes in google result.

Search engine optimisation campaign is better because it can increase the number of visitors for your website for the targeted keyword.

According to me both SEO and social media marketing are playing equal role to get high traffic and backlinks.But through social media you will get traffic very fast.

I think of SEO as a locomotive and Social Media like a motorcycle. You can get the social media going very quickly, but as soon as you let off the gas it stops. It takes a long time and a lot of energy to get the SEO going, but once it's rolling its momentum will keep it going.

Although social promotion is beneficial source for marketing but SEO is far better than this.We can only judge the difference from results and from the result point of view its(SEO) quite better.

SMO can gets you more traffic to your site faster than SEO but has only short term while SEO gives you long term basis even though if you need to do more the other one...

Actually it's not a bad idea to put more effort and focus on one over the other, but it doesn't mean that you should completely abandon the other one completely. In this case, since twitter is turning up better results in the short-term you should work towards maintaining or improving your twitter advertising. However, you should still take time to work on your SEO seeing that as time passes by, it would eventually turn in more and more people and would not seem like the lesser choice anymore.

I think you should do both, social promotion and SEO.

I think SEO has more value than social media promotion but we can't neglect the important of social media as well.

Both have their own field and importance, seo is for to achieve good position in search engine rank page and social media or social promotion is for advertising and to get easy and selected traffic.

Social promotion and SEO both have their own importance some SEOs make their SEO strategy including social promotion and mix up these two things. I personally like to mix up these two very important sources of marketing because it is very helpful for your business and can give your fast results in short period.
