I'm a highly experienced .NET developer (MCAD/MCSD) and have worked for a large number of well known clients. Most have been in the UK (IBM, Boots, Pfizer, Co-op, Comet +), and I've done other work including writing for Microsoft patterns & practices. I started programming BBC Basic when I was a nipper and have had about 12 years experience in .NET.
Do you think Google would take me on as a tea maid?

Good idea, with that experience and qualifications I know that you're in. What I can suggest right now is for you to search if there are Google company near your area and try as a walk in applicant. because most companies now prioritize walk in applicants. or you could also seek help if you have an acquiantance or a friend who knows somebody there that could help you.
