are they hiring now?
How would you like to work at Google? They're so cutting edge ... first it was the search engine, then better e-mail, followed by satellite mapping, photo albums, and virtual software and document. They've spawn a whole new industry in internet marketing throught their advertising strategy. And now they're even working on alternative energy sources.
What would it be like to work there? You've heard the rumors... the free gourmet food, the games in the break room, the festive Friday meetings. Opportunities to propose and spear-head your own projects. Sounds real attractive.
Personally, I'm not a computer "techie" type but I do know they need all kinds of skills. There's a guy, I know, who was studying language processing and I used to wonder what can you do with a major like that. Well, he's working at Google now.
So there's hope for me. My skills are more in business management, marketting and advertising, basically enterpreneurial skills. If I wasn't already committed to my own businesses, I'd be sorely tempted.
Of course this site has no affiliation with Google, we're just a fan club, right? But we can talk about our skills and qualifications and consider what it takes to be a good match. We can always dream and then get ready cause who knows when the opportunity comes.
They have been in expansion stage and I know they are hiring a lot of people. Take a look at their site Google Jobs
Google does send reps to university campuses for job fairs and you can always contact them directly. They don't accept resumes from agencies. If you know a "googler" who is knows your skills, they can give you some insight.
Good luck.
Good luck, and thanks for the article.
