Unfortunately no, you can't hide and protect sheets.

A possible workaround may be to create one single sheet in your spreadsheet on which put all data you allow to be public. Then publish (not share) the spreadsheet and restrict publication to the single sheet that contains the public data.

You password is being saved by the browser automatically because of an option to save passwords. Just make sure to log out everytime you use your browser.
and then If you are using IE. go to the password save settings and delete the google.com saved settings.
Do the same for all your browsers.

whenever you may login select your account and its corresponding password and do shift delete.
then your password saved by browser will be deleted.
then you may login without saving your password

    Hi
I was merely trying to address the question of whether or not Google Docs could implement some sort of password encryption algorithm that is compatible with Microsoft Office or not. Since Microsoft Office is used by the majority of computer users' out there, its' important that Google get's password protection working first for Microsoft Office. Since that's impossible (proprietary password algorithm), it's no surprise (to me at least) that they wouldn't invest more time and effort into password protecting other formats.
Document level password protection would increase our ability to use google docs in a bigger way. Even if the feature first starts with a simple version, just something to help lock a document would be a great first step.
Again, I wish someone from Google would just tell us the answer so we don't have to keep guessing Do you have any ideas as to why they aren't adding password protection to Google Docs?

Probably you selected the box where asks you if you want Google to remember the user and the password. Before login deselect that box and when you access your account and asks you if you want Google to remember those data select Never for this site or Not Now

you can hide command line options like a password from ps output by inserting the value with another command using back ticks. For example, you can put the password in a file called password.txt in the user's home directory, and instead of putting the password in the command line .

You can create an excel sheet and put all your important data there and then set a password for that file before opening.

You can use this free program to make a password protected file on your computer and then stuff it where only you can find it. There is a free version and a paid version. I use the free version and it works just fine.
