I have installed Desktop Search for a very non technical person. He has masses of data on various network shares that he needs to search.

My problem is the files get indexed as \\server\\share\file, so when he wants to search a specific location only and he browses to his specific mapped share eg "z:\some specific directory" Desktop search always returns 0 hits because it is indexed as "\\server\share\some specific directory"

Is there a way around this?
