I'm having the same problem. Been googling around for a while and found no solution. Did you ever figure this one out?
I have an awful lot of files and my computer is hardly ever idle, hence its been like 4 days and its only indexed 4% of my files.
How can I force it to use up my CPU and just do an index when the computer isn't idle? I don't care if it slows down I just want it to ****ing index my files as its useless atm.

Pirre74, I cannot help you, but you might one to open a new topic with this, the original question is very old so probably no one will consider it.
PhotonicGuy, thanks for the reply. Well, just by seing you reply to it within the day looks good to me! =)
...and when googling, this thread is pretty high ranked, so I'll just wait for a couple of days before posting in a new thread.
Thanks for the tip!
uinstalled it and used windows search + indexing as its perfectly adequate now.
rolls, yeah, I myself use windows search/indexing as well as google search.
Since I often want search results from unusual file types, the windows search has proven to be less than optimal. For every new file type you want windows to index, it has to be manually entered into the indexer's file type list, at least under Windows 7. There does not seem to be a way to make it index all the files.
I don't care if the index in itself is taking up as much space, or even the double amount, as the original data. I just want the job done. Promptly.
Since I often add new folders with data I have to search thgough, I want to be able to tell the indexer to start right away, and to not wait for some idle time doing the task in the background. Do it, and do it now!
I might have to switch over to some other indexing software. Neither windows nor google seems to be good enough.
