Google Checkout = No Protection for Consumers

It looks like I am a Beta-Tester for Google Checkout Merchants.

I got taken for $299.99 using Google Check-out and all I got back from the Google Checkout Team was basically, oh well, too bad but rest assured we won't deal with this merchant any more.

So, what is the point? If they can't vet their merchants, or hold the money until the purchase is received or at least that it is really, truly shipped, then there is no point to using Google Checkout. It just becomes a venue for thieves to easily use.

How sad for the Google name. I trusted this merchant because of Google Checkout.

Big mistake. Then they even had the nerve to suggest that if I deal with this seller outside of Google Checkout, I do so at my own risk! How completely insulting.

Hey Google...it looks like the risk was MY OWN anyway as you did not refund my purchase price! You merely wished me good luck in getting my money back. Good Grief!

    Beware of Google Checkout!
