Personally I didn't like it. But then I don't actually know anyone who uses it, so it would be pretty pointless for me. Facebook is where it's at.

It seemed to be lacking features and it annoyed me that it automatically made a profile without my permission.

Its not great at all especially when you've got Facebook and Twitter for competition...Its not very attractive and
i really doubt anybody uses it.

I started using it this weekend, but have to admit I'm not 100% sure what it's about.

Can someone break it down what it will be used for?

Of course in Social networking world of internet, I am not hesitate to say that we still living in Twitter & FaceBook world. There is still no space for Buzz yet. And Buzz also has many ,what we can say "Over-smart" features, which not suits.

True, don't like either why they automate profile creation with no permission. But, it seems to me useless. I dont use google buzz...

I Think google buzz isnt that well implemented yet. They should have a separate site for it as well as gmail integration. Will make it more of a proper google app rather than just an addon.

No. Google buzz does not any ad sense on it. Its more like a twitter on gmail client.

The Turno Off link is at the very bottomof gmail. You don't need to add any widget for it to appear.
In my case, at the bottom I see this, right below the message that tells you home much space is left on your gmail account:

Gmail view: standard | turn on chat | turn off buzz | older version | basic HTML Learn more

Buzz is almost like Google's answer to Twitter, albeit in a much interactive way (comments, like option, option to read a link in-place, connected sites, and most recently rebuzz). Simply put, a gmail client-specific way of content sharing..

Well, Google buzz is not going to beat twitter that's for sure, but its a good way to share you status with you gmail chat contacts, we friends share quite a bit group conversion there.

You can turn off Buzz with the "turn off buzz" link at the bottom of the Gmail UI, similar to how you can turn off chat.

Or you can simply hide the Buzz label in your left navigation panel by dragging it into the "4 more" dropdown.
