What address are you typing in the address bar to access Gmail?
Please help. My gmail has been working great, no problems, now for the last 24 hours I can't access my gmail acount. When I try to go to gmail, I get a message "this page can not be displayed" -- I've tried everything on the help pages (disabled fire wall, allowed pop-ups & cookies, changed security level, cleared temp files & cookies, cleared passwords, run every spyware, virus scan, hijackthis, everything) & I still can't get in. Please help.
What address are you typing in the address bar to access Gmail?
I've tried this (saved in my favorites & has always worked before): http://gmail.google.com/gmail
I've also tried https://gmail.com
I think there were a few others listed on chat boards, I tried all of them I ran across & none work. I've never had problems before.
Tried it already, but tried it again, same message.
If it would help, I can post my "hijackthis" log to see if there's anything anyone else sees that shouldn't be there. I'll do anything to just get my gmail back!
Try:
www.gmail.com
If this doesn't work,
try checking your internet browser.
Maybe the browser u using is temporarily failed.
Or else, try checking your connection.
Hope this help

That doesn't work either. Nothing on my computer has changed since it worked a couple of days ago & all other sites work so I don't see how it could be my browser. I've set up new email accounts on yahoo & they work. It's just gmail doesn't work now. I'm giving up now & just going with yahoo. I've not had any problems with gmail before now & was very impressed with it. Now, I'm frustrated & having to change all my websites to the new yahoo email accounts. I wish gmail was more dependable. In searching chatboards, I see where this is a common problem LOTS of people have had. It's too bad, because it seemed like it was going to be a good service.
Maybe u need to try fromatting the computer.
Or just find an internet proffesion to help you.
This is the best way
Hope this work!

So, it worked with no problems for 3 months, nothing changed on my computer, and now all of a sudden one day I need a professional to work on my computer to get my gmail to work? Does that statement sound "normal" to you?
I'm switching to yahoo. I really liked gmail, had absolutely no problems, but I need reliable email. I realize gmail is a beta site with bugs, but it just doesn't suit my needs any more.
Haha.
Better wait for 1 month until u try gmail again.
Hope you work better with yahoo.

Yeah, that whole "format yr computer" thing sounds like Grade A horsecrap to me. I am so mad about the state of my Gmail account right now, it's not even funny. As I've stated before, as soon as I get this working again, I am recovering files I have stored in it and axing it completely. This is unacceptable.
I just had this problem happen to me 2 days ago. Haven't been able to get into gmail at all. What can I do? I already emailed 3 times with no response.Originally Posted by sajjad
Remedy for Gmail to work:
I was not able to open the http://www.gmail.com page. I was getting "connection unexpected" error. It was because of the spyware on my system. Then I installed microsoft's antispyware and scan my computer and removed the spyware from it. Then I reboot my system and everything went fine after that. I could open gmail. You can download microsoft antispyware from the link below: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
dis is so annoying........... i cud never expect my gmail to not open......... il download da spyware stuff mentioned by the one above... i hope that works......
ive checked all my internet and comp configuration settings.. everyfins perfect...... all my important stuff is not opening!!!! unbelievable.........
two things that may help. when you first set up your Gmail the first time, Google sent you a email with your password and username, try to copy and paste these in your log in box. you may also try opening in the firefox browser and see if that will open up your g mail,.. failing all that I would suggest a e mail to google and ask there thechnical support for advice
wel it was simple in my case... in the TOOLS option in Internet Options i deleted cookies and the temporary files........... my prob was dat loading after registration wud take too long.... infact it wud not proceed at all.......
I'm having the same problem with Gmail; can't access my email, am lucky that I have two accounts.
It's crap. I'm taking all my contacts and going back to Hotmail. Google is just a big company that doesn't care about people. Big sales job on whatever they have coming out - but they can go rot, I'll stay away from them as much as possible from now on.
I did use Thunderbird in my Firefox browser to haul everything out of the one email account I have, looking for "disappeared" emails, that's handy. But I cannot access the other one. I give up - I hate gmail. Google "gmail sucks" and see what you get.
Obviously nobody on this site is going to help either - this is just lip service.
It may be an old thread, but just throwing it out there for help's sake--try accessing Gmail from Internet Explorer. You may have to ignore the certification warnings a couple times, but it should work. That's the only way I can get to my Gmail.
