I don't have problems connecting to Gmail...
Maybe is your local server or your conection...
Check it with neithbors...
For two or three days now, I've been unable to connect to gmail. I tried with Firefox (which tells me that the connection was interrupted and there maybe was partial data received) and Konqueror (which just tells me "no connection").
However I can connect by hand with telnet and just get a HTTP 302 Moved Temporarily to https://gmail.google.com/?dest=http%...le.com%2Fgmail so I assume there is a problem with the https server. Can anyone verify that? Will it be fixed soon?

Hey, Gmail also works fine for me, im not having any problems.
Thank you for your replies. Because it wouldn't work with different browsers, I didn't expect the problem to be on my side, but it obviously was ... and I don't understand it **
neno.tu, following your suggestion, I logged into my account at university and started firefox there, which was awfully slowbut well, it worked. So I tried and did a system update. Still no success. Then I dropped my ppp-connection and reconnected and voilÃÂ*. The puzzling thing about that: I have a reconnection every night and it didn't work for some days...
Well, I won't try to understand. Now it works and I'm fine, sorry for the false alarm!

edit: this is _really_ weird: it worked one time, but now I just get the same errors again.wtf?
i would try contacting google support. i bet they could help.
Now it's fine again. Strange thing is, I didn't have problems with any other website. So well, if noone else has/had this problem, just forget about it. Thanks for help so far

Are you by any chance running Linux??
Yes I am. Is there some known issue?

There shouldn't be...if Konqueror is 100% W3C-standards compliant. Maybe its a problem with your ISP's cache...are you on a LAN or behind a router?
Hmm. I don't use my ISP's proxy (and there is most definitely no transparent one). I'm behind a masquerading router also running linux. I tried with and without squid, I tried with firefox and konqueror, it wouldn't work. And now it works flawlessly, for no reason I could imagine.
I think it's best to be happy for now and hope the problem won't return

Mybe the problem was on the local Google server... maybe...
that could be it. there are so many different google servers!Originally Posted by neno.tu

I had the same problem. Thats why I joined this forum to see how to solve it! In the end I rebootd by router and that seemed to have solved the problem. No idea why it occured tho!!
Can someone please help me?
I've not been able to connect to gmail since sunday morning. I tried everything. And when I tried to connect from computers at school, the site freezes after I try to log in. Arggh.
thanks in advance.
it seems like one server is down. gmail works fine for me, execept its a little slower than usual. try contacting google support.
damn. I would try contacting them but gmail is my only account lol. i should've thought twice before permanently switching to gmail. afterall, it is beta.
now that i think of it, what if one day google decides to shut down the gmail service? *shocks*
then one day, they start charging money for gmail!
