I have a hotmail account and just the other day I got an email from them saying that Hotmail is now being improved, beome part of the Beta testing, it will now offer a 2Gb inbox, and emails can no be customised with fonts and things like that. I mean i'm only new to Gmail and looks like it is slowly kicking off as it isn't widely publicised from what I've see, and i believe that hotmail woud have sent this to quite a few people and looks like Gmail wont have much of chance being noticed as MSN moves in on their ground. Do you think that Google will try to push Gmail into the open, so that there will be some competition?

Yeah Microsoft are trying to beat Gmail! The new features you were talking about Cc are in the beta version of Windows Live Mail though myself I do prefer Gmail as Live Mail keeps going wrong for me and most of my friends. The loading times and loading problems with Live Mail get on my nerves!
Wheather or not Google will be opening the beta of Gmail soon I do not know?
I've had a Windows Live account for a while now (after converting a Hotmail account), and it's nowhere near Gmail.
No POP3 Access.
It doesn't have full functionality with anything but Internet Exploiter.
Ads. Packed with blinky, flashy ads.
Still has the spam signature on outgoing mail.
It's next to useless, as far as I'm concerned.

Yep, iv had Windows Live Mail for a whole also.brbrIt doesn't offer anything that great, they are useless they people.brbrStill nowhere as near as good as Gmail.br

Hotmail comes from HTML.. well, I'd say it should be Sogmail.. SGML.. the lazy old standard..
compared to gmail..
well, gmail is XHTML 1.1 Strict, styled with CSS, and also some JS with it..
(note: these are not the standards used for these services.. just a comparison..)
I have to give Hotmail the benefit of the doubt, it was the first email i have ever had, and still have today. It's gone from like no room to tons of space. The hotmail live looks pretty good.
Though i don't think anyone will compete with Gmail. Yahoo and Hotmail will try, but in the very end, they will fail.

Why do you still use hotmail then? You could register a gmail (I`d gladly send you an invite), and then forward your hot mails to it.

Everyone keeps putting out MSN but somehow microsoft always seems to eventually come out on top! I think Gmail is better also, but I wouldn't be surprised if MSN email became more popular somehow
MSN Hotmail IS more popular. What are you talking about? Rambling and adding useless posts to the end of old threads isn't going to get you on the good sides of the admins.

I dislike the Hotmail, and the new Live Mail.
Hotmail is too basic, and Live Mail is awfully slow.
In light of these facts, I only use Microsoft's email service as a spam account.
Yeah plus Live Mail has quite a few errors especially when you are trying to send messages via e-mail
