Maybe your site in that time was new..Websites ranking in Google SERP change every now and then, unless you got to the Top 10..But never be complacent when you get there because your competitors might have a way to get his website ranks high than yours and also 1 thing when you get to Top 10 your site ranking can be increase or decrease it's ranking..

Nice post from you and you can get more details from Google adwords and you can trust it for long term also.

Interesting I use it all the time but never thought about it not being fairly acurate until now lol.

Good Question you have pointed out. Don't thought this ever till yet.
But I think most of the Internet Marketers trust on Google Keyword Suggestion Tool.

Did you make sure to click on "exact" instead of "broad". With broad match, a keyword could be 10,000 but as exact it only gets 1,000 searches a month, if at all. It depends.

Speaking of broad, what I would rather like to know is why the google search engine says e.g. 6,000 search results on a keyword and then when you click through to the last page the results are actually only 680 or something like that.

i think we can trust google keyworld tools, it helps me a lot in SERP all my keywords from googlekeywordtool ranks well in SERP.

Exactly, you need to click 'Exact', I too used to wonder why the keyword tool was exaggerating, but once I found out about this, the figures seemed more realistic. Also I feel being in the bottom of the first page does not help much. You have to be in the top 3 to 5 positions to see some real traffic.

I also think you need to check whether you are using exact search and also what geographical area you are choosing while doing your keyword research.

Google adwords keyword tool shows you approximate data but i think it is useful to get an idea.

Also #10 spot get around 2 to 3% traffic of total searches for that keyword.

If you want to be sure, you may check the alexa ranking for the site that's on the top ranking for the keyword, and see the keywords navigation tab there, to see if they receive traffic for search of "types of flowers".

I think you can trust it..

so far, Googel keyword too indeed help me to do a lot of research and work fine for me
but i do use some of other tools to do a little bit extra

Googel Keyword tool works fine for me, and U didn't have to be 100% depend on it with your KW research.

There is still some tools like wordtracker are available, so I guess it won't be a problem!

I have been using google adwords keywords tool from long time and never really was disappointed with the results or accuracy.
